desoximetasone) cream, ointment, and gel can help treat skin conditions like
psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. This prescription medication is applied in a thin layer on the affected areas of the skin twice daily.
There two types of Topicort cream: a high-potency version (0.25%) and a low-potency version (0.05%). The cream and the gel are easier and less messy to apply than the ointment, which is greasy. However, the gel may cause more skin irritation and dryness than the ointment or cream.
Your dose will be based on the severity of the skin condition being treated. Some of the potential side effects of this skin medicine include burning, itching, and dryness.
