Soriatane® (acitretin) is a prescription medication licensed for the treatment of severe psoriasis in adults. Because this medication has a significant potential for causing birth defects, women of childbearing potential must use two reliable forms of contraception while taking this medication. Although many people tolerate this medication well, side effects are possible and may include dry skin, chapped lips, and hair loss.
