Soriatane Uses

How Does Soriatane Work?

Soriatane is a retinoid, which means that it is similar to vitamin A. It is not entirely clear how Soriatane works to treat severe psoriasis.

Can Children Use It?

Soriatane is not approved for children. Similar drugs have been linked to bone, ligament, and tendon problems that may lead to stunted growth or other problems. If your child's healthcare provider recommends this medication for your child, make sure to discuss these risks with your child's healthcare provider.

Off-Label Uses of Soriatane

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend Soriatane for something other than severe psoriasis. This is known as an "off-label" use. Soriatane is sometimes used off-label for various different skin conditions, including (but not limited to):

  • Discoid lupus erythematosus
  • Darier's disease
  • Pityriasis rubra pilaris.
