The dosage your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on how you react to the medication. As is always the case, do not adjust your dose unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.

As with any medicine, side effects are possible. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. In fact, most people tolerate it quite well. However, very serious side effects are also possible.
Some of the possible side effects include but are not limited to:
- Chapped, irritated lips
- Hair loss
- Peeling skin
- Dry skin.

Soriatane can potentially interact with a number of other medications (see Soriatane Drug Interactions).
You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking this medication if you have:
- Depression
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Alcoholism
- High triglycerides or high cholesterol
- Liver disease, such as liver failure, hepatitis, or cirrhosis
- Kidney disease, such as kidney failure (renal failure)
- Any allergies, including to foods, dyes, or preservatives.
Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are:
- Pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant (see Soriatane and Pregnancy)
- Breastfeeding (see Soriatane and Breastfeeding).
Make sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medicines you are taking, including prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements.
