Olux Drug Information
Olux® (clobetasol propionate foam) is a medication licensed for the treatment of a variety of skin conditions, such as psoriasis, eczema, and dermatitis. It comes as a regular foam (Olux) or an emollient foam (Olux-E). The regular foam is typically used on the scalp, while the emollient foam is used on other parts of the body.
This product is approved for use in adults and children as young as 12 years old. When using Olux, apply about a capful of the medicine on the affected areas of the skin twice daily. Although most people tolerate it well, side effects can occur and may include a burning sensation and other skin reactions.
Before using Olux, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on any other drugs you are taking (including vitamins and supplements), as well as any allergies you may have, including to medications, foods, dyes, or preservatives. Also, let your healthcare provider know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
