Luxiq Drug Information

If you have scalp psoriasis or another skin condition that causes itching or inflammation of the scalp, you may benefit from Luxiq® (betamethasone valerate foam). This drug comes in the form of a foam that is applied to the scalp twice a day, typically for up to two weeks. However, as a medium-potency steroid, it may be used for a longer period, if necessary, unlike many stronger steroids. Common side effects include burning, stinging, and itching.

Prior to prescribing Luxiq, your healthcare provider needs a complete list of any other medicines you are taking, including nonprescription products, vitamins, and supplements, and a detailed medical history. Luxiq is not appropriate for everyone, and providing this information helps ensure that the right drug is used in your situation.
