Elocon Medication Information

Available by prescription only, Elocon® (mometasone furoate) is a drug used to treat various skin conditions, such as dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis. It comes in several forms, including a skin cream, a lotion, and an ointment. It is approved for use in adults and children over the age of two.
 
Typically, a thin layer of Elocon is applied to the affected areas of skin once daily. Possible side effects may include acne, burning, and tingling.
 
To ensure your safety with Elocon, make sure your healthcare provider has up-to-date information on any other medications you are taking (including vitamins and supplements), as well as any allergies you may have, including to medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives.
