Olux

Olux is a medicine licensed to treat various skin conditions, such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema. What Is Olux?

Olux^® (clobetasol propionate foam) is a prescription skin medication. It belongs to a group of medications known as topical steroids. It comes in the form of a regular foam (Olux) or an emollient foam (Olux-E). The regular foam contains alcohol and can be somewhat drying. The emollient foam is alcohol-free and is less drying.

Olux is approved to treat various conditions of the scalp and body, such as plaque psoriasis, scalp psoriasis, or seborrhea.

How Does Olux Work?

Olux is part of a group of medications known as glucocorticoids, which are a type of corticosteroid (or "steroid" for short). Although glucocorticoids have numerous effects in the body, they are used mostly for their anti-inflammatory or immune-suppressing properties. Olux works for most conditions by decreasing inflammation or suppressing an overactive immune system.
