Olux for Psoriasis

Adults and children age 12 and older who have psoriasis may benefit from Olux® (clobetasol propionate foam). This prescription medication works by suppressing an overactive immune system and reducing inflammation.

When using Olux for psoriasis, there are two formulations of the medicine available: a regular foam and an emollient foam. The regular foam is approved for treating psoriasis and certain other skin conditions on the scalp. The emollient foam is approved for treating psoriasis and various other skin problems that occur on the rest of the body (the emollient foam is too greasy to use on the head).

Olux products should only be used for short periods of time (preferably no longer than two weeks). Using too much or using it for too long may cause serious side effects.
