Psoriasis Home > Tazorac Drug Interactions

If you take Cipro, Stelazine, or Floxin with Tazorac, drug interactions could occur. Because Tazorac increases sun sensitivity, combining it with certain antibiotics that also cause sun sensitivity can intensify this side effect, which means you might burn much more easily. Another interaction to be aware of is combining Tazorac with other skin products that have a strong tendency to dry out the skin.

An Overview of Interactions With Tazorac

Even though Tazorac® (tazarotene) is applied to the skin, it can potentially interact with a few other medications. Some of the products that may lead to drug interactions with Tazorac include:
  • Sulfonamides ("sulfa drugs"), including:
    • Sulfadiazine
    • Sulfadoxine (Fansidar®)
    • Sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim®, Septra®)
    • Sulfisoxazole (Gantrisin®)
