Generic Luxiq
It is now possible to buy Luxiq (betamethasone valerate foam) in generic form. The generic version comes in one strength and is made by Perrigo. It has been assigned an "AB" rating by the FDA. This means it is considered equivalent to the brand-name version; however, it is allowed to contain different inactive ingredients.
Luxiq® (betamethasone valerate foam) is a prescription skin medication. It is a topical steroid (a steroid that is applied to the skin) that is used twice a day. Luxiq is used for various conditions that affect the scalp, such as scalp psoriasis.
Brand-name Luxiq is made by Stiefel Laboratories, Inc. However, it is also available in generic form.
Generic Luxiq is available in one strength -- Betamethasone valerate 0.12% foam. It is made by Perrigo.
All generic medications must undergo certain tests to compare them to brand-name medications. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) then looks at these tests to decide if the generics are equivalent to the brand-name medications and assigns a rating to each one.
