Dovonex Cream

Dovonex® (calcipotriene) is a medication commonly prescribed for the treatment of plaque psoriasis. There are three forms of Dovonex: ointment, cream, and solution (liquid). The solution and cream are generally applied twice a day to the affected area, while the ointment is applied once or twice a day. You should wash your hands after applying it, unless that is the area being treated.

There is a generic version of the liquid and ointment forms of Dovonex; the cream, however, is not available as a generic at this time. Most people have no problems with this medicine. However, side effects are possible. Commonly reported ones include skin irritation, burning, and tingling.
