Cyclosporine and Blood Pressure Medication

If you take cyclosporine (Gengraf®, Neoral®, Sandimmune®) with certain blood pressure medications, drug interactions may occur. For example, taking cyclosporine with an ACE inhibitor could increase your risk for kidney problems, especially if you are dehydrated. Taking cyclosporine with a calcium channel blocker may increase blood levels of both cyclosporine and the calcium channel blocker.

To minimize your risk of these and other potential drug interactions with cyclosporine, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other prescription or nonprescription medications you are taking, as well as any herbal supplements or vitamins.
